SSAIB Return to Industry Exhibitions after Numerous COVID-19 Disruptions

SSAIB returned to exhibitions for the first time in 16 months earlier this week – after attending the first Security TWENTY event to take place since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.

Security TWENTY 21 Birmingham – organised by the team behind Professional Security magazine – took place at The Belfry Hotel and Resort on Tuesday June 29, which was the first industry event that SSAIB were able to attend since the same venue hosted last year’s Security TWENTY 20 Birmingham on February 20, 2020.

Joanne Ellis and conformance administrator Lizzy James managed the SSAIB stand at the event, which sales executive Joanne was thrilled to attend - after a prolonged absence from industry events for the leading UKAS-accredited certification body for the fire and security industries.

Joanne explained: “Usually, events like this are great for us to catch-up with colleagues across the industry, SSAIB-certified firms and potential new firms that are interested in finding out more about the benefits of registering for third-party certification through SSAIB.

“However, as we are all aware, the COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of our lives and exhibitions like this have been sorely missed within the SSAIB calendar.

“Having seen more than a year’s worth of events re-arranged and/or cancelled as time went on, it was great to be able to back at a Security TWENTY event and, hopefully, this will be the first of many that we have planned to go ahead in the second half of the year.”

SSAIB will be back on the road for the next Security TWENTY 21 event in Manchester later this month on Tuesday July 20, but a full itinerary for our planned schedule for the rest of 2021 can be viewed at https://ssaib.org/calendar/.
