SSAIB is an accredited certification body specialising in providing certification services to the security and safety industry. The scope of our activities includes certification of organisations supplying security systems, fire alarm systems, fire risk assessments, portable fire extinguishing equipment, security services, and alarm monitoring services. SSAIB is currently looking for a Sales and Marketing Administrator to join the team, based at our Whitley Bay office.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Raising quotations.

- Maintaining good customer relations.

- Answering customer telephone queries.

- Maintain and update sales and customer records.

- Liaise with new firms from application to acceptance.

- Assisting at regional meetings.

- Attend exhibitions and conferences.

- Help the Marketing Manager in the organisation of exhibitions and conferences.

- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Sales and Marketing Manager.

PR and Marketing Executive

Key Roles and Responsibilities 

- Assist Marketing Manager with planning, development and implementing PR strategies.

- Liaising with colleagues and Scheme Managers on PR and marketing issues.

- Dealing with enquiries from media individuals and other organisations.

- Researching, writing, and distributing press releases to targeted media.

- Collating and analysing media coverage.

- Writing and editing in-house magazine, case studies, speeches, and articles.  Work closely with Marketing Manager on the layout and production.

- Help with the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films, and multimedia programs.

- Ensuring SSAIB website content is up-to-date and correct.

- Update information and engaging with users on company social media sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.

- Assist at exhibitions and trade shows as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required of PR and Marketing Executive

- Be confident in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Experience with social media management.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

- Aptitude in presentation and public speaking.

- Attention to detail.

- Critical thinker and analytical problem solver.

- Working knowledge of WordPress is desirable.

Education Requirements:

- Degree in PR, communications, journalism, or similar relevant field

Conformance Administrator

SSAIB Office, West Monkseaton, Whitley Bay £21000+ Full Time

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

- Monitoring outstanding non-conformity reports to ensure evidence is provided and liaising with firms to request evidence as necessary.

- Collating the evidence ready to have checked and signed off by the scheme manager.

- Communicate back to the firm where more evidence is required and monitor that this is returned.

- Keeping the database up-to-date and electronic filing of evidence.

- Chasing firms by telephone, e-mail and issuing of letters regarding outstanding NCRs.

- Ensuring all paperwork is present and correct for new firms wanting SSAIB certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required of Conformance Administrator:

- Computer literate, with competent keyboard skills.

- Be confident in Microsoft Office; specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.

- At least two years working within a customer service environment preferred.

- Excellent telephone and communication skills.

- High degree of accuracy.

- Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues.

Education Requirements:

- Must have minimum ‘O’ level/GCSE Maths and English.

- Ability to adapt procedures to a new, and more effective, way of working.

Additional Requirements of Conformance Administrator:

Certification with SSAIB is a mark of excellence and, with over 1,800 small and larger companies registered, we represent the greatest number of security service providers in the sector.

The company currently has a vacancy for a full-time lead auditor to conduct ISO quality, environmental, health and safety and BAFE management systems audits – as well security services product audits and SIA Approved Contractor Scheme assessments.

Duties to include conducting third-party certification, surveillance, reverification, recertification and renewal audits in the security services and fire sectors – ensuring audits are completed in accordance with relevant quality procedures and that SSAIB, UKAS SCC and SIA requirements are met (as applicable.)

Applicants must have previous security industry-related experience, while auditing experience and knowledge of the SIA ACS and management systems schemes is also desirable.

You will be required to work flexible hours – including out of hours and weekends - and must be willing to travel as well. A confident and determined professional who can work as part of a team and as an individual under their own initiative, the successful applicant must also have an eye for attention to detail.
