Bulletin 1029 - Publication and implementation of BS8243:2010 is now available for registered firms to down load from www.ssaib.info

PD6662:2004 has been updated to PD6662:2010. New standards not available for citation in the previous version have been incorporated, and these should be considered when firms are making purchasing decisions for alarm components. Where new standards have been added, any conflicting or superseded requirements previously within PD6662:2004 have been removed fom the 2010 version. SSAIB has issued a bulletin UK1028 detailing the changes, registered firms can find this bulletin at www.ssaib.info

SSAIB is announcing a new audit scheme for telecare service providers. The scheme, which is based on the European standard for the management and delivery of telecare services and relevant British Standards, is currently in development. For more information click here.
SSAIB announces PASSPORT certification scheme for manned security services
SSAIB launches its PASSPORT certification scheme for firms that provide Security Guarding, Mobile Patrols, Keyholding, Response Services, Door Supervision and CCTV Management and Operations. This scheme has been accredited by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) as meeting the operational requirements for its Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), and is ideal for firms that wish to achieve or maintain ACS approved status. Publication of ISO 9001:2008 “Quality management systems – Requirements”
Companies holding SSAIB certification for their quality management systems are advised that the 2008 version of BS EN ISO 9001:2008 is now published. The revised standard does not contain any new requirements and it is anticipated that quality management systems which are fully compliant with the 2000 version of the standard will continue to comply or will comply with minor adjustments.
